We keep running behind things that we see as lacking in our lives. A person who does not have enough money, he or she will put effort into earning more. A person is not as healthy as he thinks he should be, he will be obsessed with living a healthy life.
Basically, we all try to fill in the gaps that we have in our life. But consciously or unconsciously we are going towards one thing which is a so-called Perfect Life. The idea of living a perfect life can be different for different people. So, if we have to put it in better words, we can say we all are heading for Holistic Success In Life.
As a life coach, I work to live a holistic life and help people explore & establish a holistic lifestyle that suits them. In this article, as a holistic life coach based in India, I have explained a few simple things that may help you redesign your lifestyle.
What is a Holistic Life?
A holistic life or a wholistic life is a lifestyle where an individual will put equal efforts in all the sectors of life like, health, wellness, relationships, career, finance, spirituality, etc.
Discovering Your Holistic Life
Holistic life on the ground will be different for different people. Someone who is extremely successful in his career may need to be as fit as he wants to be. So, he or she will need to put extra effort into health. Similarly, someone who is very healthy but is not doing well in his or her career may have to put extra effort in the career sector.
As an individual we need to find out where we are doing well and where we need to focus more. In this pursuit we need to have courage to admit that we are struggling in certain sectors of life. Only then we can open doors to new opportunities in life.
How To Design My Holistic Life?
Depending upon your lifestyle you can decide in which sector you need to put in efforts. So below are some few simple steps to start living a holistic life:
- Diary: First of all get a diary or a notebook. This will be your data log where you will set all your progress.
- Analyze: Analyze all the sectors of your life. Your health, relationship, career, financial status, personal interests, passion, etc. Write down in detail in the diary. Write all the sectors and mention how much successful you are in a particular sector and how much you need to improve in each & every sector.
- Desires: Gather all the desires together in one page, so that you can focus on it easily.
- Goals: Now set SMART goals, Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time Bound. If you don’t know about it, visit this below video.
- Plan: Once you have clear cut goals create an action plan.
- Work: Work on your goals on daily basis.
By following a step-by-step method, you will be able to grow progressively in unidirectional way. A clear-cut strategy helps us achieve our goals more efficiently.
Why Do I Need A Holistic Life Coach?
Well, you don’t need, but you can take your life to a next level with a life coach. In reality, not everybody works with a life coach. But those who do work with a good life coach in India and elsewhere take their life to a next level.
Everybody needs a coach, guide, consultant, or guru. We may need coaching in one sector of life or we may need a holistic life coach. This is for an individual to decide. But I must say that if one has following thing:
- Potential to work with a life coach
- Willingness to work with a life coach
- Patience to work with a life coach
- Clear goals & vision
- Willingness to become a better version of his or her own self
Then one can bring dramatic, productive and holistic changes in his or her life by working with a seasoned life coach. There are many benefits of Life Coaching mentioned in below article.
Some Tips For Living A Holistic Lifestyle:
- Getting Up Early
How much early? That should depend upon your work & life style. It shouldn’t be inspired by someone who lives a different life than yours. For example, a celebrity yoga coach gets up early at 4 am. But a corporate employee need not get up that early.
- Physical Workout
Follow a physical discipline that suits your work & lifestyle. Walk, yoga, gym, swimming, cycling, jogging, whatever suits you better.
- Develop healthy food habits.
- Eat on time
- Eat slowly
- Chew properly
- Avoid overeating
- Have a satiated meal
- Avoid too salty
- Avoid too sweet
- Avoid too much fried
Once in a while everything is fine, but ‘once in a while’ is different for different people. You need to find your border line.
- Screen Times
Dedicate specific time for using social media, television, etc. Keep a track of your screen time. Don’t over do it. Avoid it for couple of hours before sleep and after waking up.
- Taking Breaks
Take breaks from your work from time to time. Go have a small trip with family or friends. Enjoy your vacation every year.
- Quality Time With Near & Dear Ones
Make sure you invest your time with your friends, family & relatives.
- Having Me Time
On daily basis or at least on weekly basis take some time out for your own self. Just be with yourself. Make sure you are not disturbed by anyone.
- Work-Life Balance
Always maintain a balance in your work & personal life. If you are getting calls when you are at home all the time then you need to do something about it.
- Working Your Investment
A very less attended sector of life. Do proper research & get professional help so that you can have that sense of security.
