1) Holding On To Things:
All the eastern cultures accept this as the major reason for all the issues of life. We don’t let go of what has gone.
Holding on to things will always keep us in the past and prevent us from seeing the great many possibilities that the future holds.
When we hold on to the things or people or situations, we try to create the same thing that was in the past. Life is about change. Everything changes. What our mind does not understand is that we want joy and not the subject of joy.
The subject of joy was different when we were young, it is now different, and will be different as we grow old. So do not hold on to things, people & situations.
2) Focusing On Just One Area:
It is very natural that we only focus on a particular area of life. It is often observed that what we lack in our early days, we seek in our later days.
A person who has seen financial struggle in the early days will always run behind money and ignore other essential aspects of life. A person who did not get love and affection will not crave money as much, but will seek attention and care.
Whatever the case may be, we need to grow consciously in the right direction. Yes, we must grow a particular area of life by putting our energy into that area, but in pursuit, do not forget other sectors of life.
People focusing only on their careers often ignore their family life and health. It then backfires and affects their overall life negatively. The entire process of life coaching is to make sure that you put enough energy into all areas of life.
3) Not Taking Breaks:
This small thing can bring big results in life. I often say this to people: keep breaking patterns. When you take a break and then continue your work, your work will only improve.
There is a famous technique called the Pomodoro technique that boosts your creativity. In this technique, you work for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break, then again work for 25 minutes and take a 5-minute break. This small thing keeps your mind focused, alert, and stress-free.
Also, taking breaks helps you have a self-reflection on what you want and what you are becoming in achieving your goals.
4) Getting Emotionally Involved:
This is the reason why we get stuck in life. Because we get emotionally entangled, we cannot accept change.
Emotions are a powerful force that can shape you or break you, depending on how you handle them. So many studies have shown that having a balance in emotions can make you into something great.
5) Not Working On Yourself:
Life is about growth & healing. This either happens consciously or unconsciously. You can choose to grow in the right direction by working on yourself. But it is a constant process and must be done carefully and consciously.
